THE PERSON BEHIND YOUR MUSEUM CAREER COACH
I've spent more than 20 years working and volunteering in museums, so I know firsthand that museum careers don't always fit neatly into generic career advice.
I understand the unusual job titles, nonlinear career paths, small organizations where you do five jobs at once, and job descriptions that leave you wondering what they're actually looking for.
My goal is to help you make sense of the job search, understand how your experience connects to the roles you're pursuing, and learn how to communicate and advocate for what you bring to the museum field.

One month after completing your program, I landed a public history job. I used your worksheets to create the resume I submitted for that job and to prepare for the two interviews. I had been applying for jobs for about a year and was feeling defeated before participating in your program. While the coaching is exceptional, I think the true magic behind the program is your ability to connect people who are navigating the same difficult process and making them feel supported.
I have achieved my long-time goal of landing a federal job! I wanted to thank you for your workshop. I used some of the questions and techniques to navigate the interview process. They actually had to fight for me because I had another offer!
I got an interview from the Smithsonian after submitting my new resume and I feel like that's what finally set me apart. I've applied to the Smithsonian at least 20 times and never got an interview before!
I walked away feeling the program [Jumpstart Your Museum Job Search] was incredibly constructive, enriching and empowering. Alli has a unique way of being both personal and professional, connecting the micro with the macro and holding you both accountable while also being your biggest cheerleader. What more could you ask for?

There is not one place where museums post jobs! I've compiled two types of job boards to help connect you to the most roles: one for museum jobs and the other for internships.
